NRSC MEASUREMENTS

FOR AM STATIONS IN OHIO, INDIANA AND MICHIGAN

FCC Rules require occupied spectrum measurements be made for AM stations. This should occur annually with no more than 14 months between successive measurements. If you have made changes in your FM transmission system then occupied spectrum measurements may also be required. Check FCC part 73.44 and 73.317 to see if it applies to your operation. Once again, we offer you our services.

Ed Trombley loading up car for NRSC run

Here is what we will do--

  • We will send Ed Trombley to your transmitter site with a high cost spectrum analyzer mounted in a low cost car. E.T. will then conduct the measurements rain or shine, while being attacked by black flies, bees, mosquitos, snakes, rabid dogs, flying monkeys, angry farmers and motorists that enjoy driving in the ditch!!!
  • Separate NRSC Mask and Spurious Emissions time-cumulative measurements will be made and stored in our Tektronix Model 2712 Spectrum Analyzer.
  • Harmonics will be measured with a Potomac Instruments FIM-41 Field Intensity Meter.
  • If you operate with a different transmitter or antenna system during nighttime hours you will be asked to switch to Night mode so that the measurements can be repeated.
  • When E.T. returns to the office, a full report will be prepared for your station.

Here is what you will get--

  • A discussion describing the procedure, equipment, and location used to make the measurements with a signed certification by the engineer making the measurements.
  • Separate plots for the NRSC Mask and Spurious Emissions.
  • A tabulation of the Carrier and Harmonic Signal Field Strengths for each mode measured.
  • Upon completion of the report, the "original signature" copy will be promptly sent to you.

The price for this complete service will still be $350 dollars for "single mode" service stations and $395 for "dual mode" operations. To perform this service at this price, we must group as many stations together as possible. Therefore, in order to maintain a reasonable schedule for all the stations involved, we will be unable to perform other services on these trips. You will want to be certain your system is in good operating condition with properly set modulation levels at the time of the measurements. To schedule this service for your station, please go on to fill out the On-line NRSC Information Sheet.

Thanks,
